Help Grow the Balloon Industry!

A friend shared this story with me this week – and I felt I needed to pass it on to the Balloon Industry.

There was a farmer who grew excellent quality corn. Every year he won the award for the best grown corn. One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors. “How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?” the reporter asked.

My passion is to create resources for our industry to create strong Business Strategies to have continued growth and success!

I am a firm believer that our industry has many opportunities for growth, and that the only way for us to reach our full potential as an industry is for All Balloon Companies to Create Quality Decor (this does not mean super elaborate pieces of art, but properly sized, well thought out decor that looks great and creates emotion for our clients). For Balloon Companies to make it a priority to have high quality branding, websites, professional online presence and operate as a business!

Many people complain they have heard from potential clients “it’s just balloons” when quoted a price higher than the person was expecting. One of the things that will help reduce that perception is conducting business in a professional manner and the more successful balloon companies that are out there the more clients will understand that hiring a professional balloon decorator is just like hiring a Florist or Baker for your event, knowing that you get what you pay for!

I have enjoyed the balloon industry since the day I bought Party People in December of 2003. I was inspired that every class and every convention I attended instructors were delighted to share tips and tricks to create beautiful decor. The one thing I felt was missing in our industry was the road map to creating a Strong, Profitable business.
