Is Your Love Affair with Social Media Still Burning Bright?
Let’s talk about your relationship with social media. Do you feel a spark—excited to log in and engage? Or has the fire dimmed, making it feel more like a chore than a passion?
I recently attended a training that provided valuable insights on optimizing your business’s social media presence, and I want to share some key takeaways with you. Plus, I’d love to hear about your experience in a quick survey at the end!
Boost Your Business Social Media Presence
Here are a few strategies to strengthen your social media engagement and ensure you’re reaching the right audience:
✔ Follow Strategically – Use your personal page to follow other businesses, rather than your business page. This helps prevent your business clients from being bombarded with recommendations for other balloon professionals instead of your content.
✔ Find Your Ideal Audience – Seek out and engage with followers who match your target clients and referral partners in your service area. The algorithm will then prioritize showing your content to potential customers instead of people outside your geographic reach.
✔ Engagement Over Follower Count – Don’t obsess over the number of followers. Instead, focus on who is engaging with your posts. Meaningful interactions will drive better business results than just an inflated follower count.
✔ Avoid “Follow for Follow” Tactics – Posts in facebook groups full of balloon designers from around the world like “I don’t have many followers, please follow my page” or “Follow me and I’ll follow you” do little for your business.
Instead, focus on creating valuable content that naturally attracts your ideal clients.
Like and follow the event industry professionals and venues in your area that you want to work with.
Own Your Online Presence Beyond Social Media
One crucial lesson I’ve learned serving as Balloon Coach since 2015 is that social media is borrowed space—you don’t own it. Your accounts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or LinkedIn could be suspended or deleted without warning.
Balloon Designers have shared horror stories wtih me of losing access to their social media business accounts.
That’s why it’s essential to have a website and an email list. Unlike social media, these are assets you control, allowing you to maintain direct communication with your audience no matter what happens on external platforms.
If you need support in building a solid foundation beyond social media, I invite you to sign up for a free 10-minute consult or join our Balloon Boss Mastermind Program for deeper training.
Keeping the Passion Alive
As a Balloon Coach, I’ve had the privilege of working with thousands of balloon professionals, witnessing their highs and lows. If your passion for social media—or even your business—has faded, you’re not alone. We all fluctuate between being a roaring bonfire, a steady ember, and sometimes just a glowing coal.
When you need to reignite your flame, reach out. You have a community that understands and supports you.
